Thank you for your input. One question, how do you know that nobody ever took a firearm into the parks? Does laws against murder stop murders? Do speed limits stop people from speeding? Does a sign that says no guns allowed stop criminals from carrying a gun?

Also, please cite for me where CHL holders are just as likely to commit violent crimes. This is the first I've heard of it, and it is most likely fear mongering. I have been studying gun laws and statistics for years and have never come across such.

The fact is CHL holders are just as likely to commit crimes as anyone else and those crimes are more likely to be violent. National Parks were safe when guns were not allowed so there is no reason bring them in now. If you really believe National Parks are so dangerous you must armed to be safe, then you have to be crazy to go there in the first place.

Thank you for your input. The basis of my argument was not to say that the Net Neutrality Rules was just another way for the government to take away our freedom, it was to point out the government, once involved, stays involved, and then becomes more involved. I have no disagreement with what you mentioned. We both seem to believe that large corporations are the ones behind this. However, you cannot (or at least, should not) disagree that when the government gets involved it's because of the large corporations in the first place. And, with both sides lobbying our elected officials, nothing will be solved by more legislation.

Plus, let us not forget who paved the way for the corporations to take over internet availability...it was the government. By allowing only one provider in service areas (though this is slightly changing, but not by much) they essentially created a monopoly in internet service areas , and thus have created an oligopoly of a few major internet providers.

So, we may not agree on the solution to the problem, however, I believe we both know who is ultimately behind it.

You don't have a clue. the FCC document addresses the fact that there is the likely potential that Service Providers will target the IP connection (internet connection) and divide it up by network protocols and so forth for purposes creating additional profit centers.

This has been done in the past with computer hardware manufacturers and OS's and is likely to occur in the future with IP connections. This is why the FCC spoke up. That is their Job.

The 'Internet' and the concept of a `natural` unfettered landscape of the Internet is not in any way similar to, or akin to, organic naturally occurring resources that the technically `not to savvy` seem to have become comfortable equating the 'Internet' with.

It is a childish comparison.

It isn't natural, and it is this insistence based on this technically misguided conceptualizing about the internet, that is apparently motivating Americans to do nothing while Corporations are preparing to implement technical mechanisms as described by the FCC that will slice up IP networks into smaller marketable pieces.

That's you and your internet connection. The Government hasn't got a thing to do with it.

This will create additional barriers and costs for users and transform current IP networks into something quite different from what we now have.

The characterizations appearing here do us all a great dis-service.

This has nothing to do with your freedom or the Government.

This is matter of Corporate profits and the misinformation campaign that is paving the way for their success.

Trading with China has resulted in an improved economy for both sides through the mid, late and post nineties and this has resulted in a better standard of living on both sides.
My only worry about China is how they steal nearly everything from our culture and assimilate it into their own. Some of this assimilation is ok by my book, but when it comes down to top secret military weaponry being stolen on a sometimes monthly basis, then I get a little worried.
